Throughout the year Churchill Orthopedic Rehabilitation actively participates in a variety of ways to help those in need. From fundraisers and food drives, to sponsorships and our community outreach projects, COR upholds the aspiration to unite members of the community in a common cause. The goal of COR is to provide a message of hope and encouragement to those who need it and in the process create a sense of support and community for all those involved.

Cycle for Survival

A special thank you to all who donated and participated in our First Annual Cycle for Survival! With your generous donations, we were able to raise over $2000!!!

Our Drives

Canned Food Drive
The Center for Food Action is dedicated to “preventing hunger and homelessness and improving the lives of individuals and families living in poverty.” Together with our patients we collect non-perishable items to be distributed locally to those in need.

Tools for Schools
Churchill Orthopedic Rehabilitation has partnered with the Center for Food Action and hosted its annual Tools for Schools Drive. Patients and associates donate much needed school supplies to students who come from families in need. These generous donators feel inspired in knowing that they are providing students with a great variety of essential materials for educational success! All proceeds are given to and distributed by the Center for Food Action throughout Bergen County.

Share the Warmth Drive
The patients of Churchill Orthopedic Rehabilitation and its associates annually donate new or gently worn winter gear for families in need. Coats, hats, gloves, scarves and mittens are all gratefully accepted by the parents and children of Bergen County. Donors generously provide their winter gear and are warmed by the knowledge that their coats go directly to children, women, and men in need.

Soles4Souls
With the help of our patients, COR annually collects new and gently worn shoes in an effort to provide footwear to those individuals in need around the world. Together with this organization we can “change the world, one pair at a time”. We greatly appreciate the support of our patients in our mission to help those in need!

Toy Drive
During the holiday season, COR assists Bergen County School Districts by hosting its annual Toy Drive to lift the spirits of children in need and their families. Donors bring in new and unopened toys that are taken to the volunteers of Bergen County School Districts. The families get to enjoy a day of celebration, organized by the volunteers, then the children happily receive their toys along with much needed coats from our Share the Warmth Coat Drive. Patients and associates are filled with cheer to know that they can help these children and their families experience the joy of the holidays.

Community Outreach Projects

Recreation Centers

Churchill Orthopedic Rehabilitation is working with Recreation Centers in Bergen County to bring knowledge and education to athletes and coaches in our surrounding towns. Recently, Nick Daniels gave a presentation to Leonia Little League Coaches on observing and assessing their players’ performance safely guide them to play their best.

Senior Wellness Fair
Bergen County holds an annual HealthEASE Wellness Fair for seniors to have basic check ups. Here, Danielle and Barbara had a booth where Danielle performed fall risk assessments on participants and reviewed the results with each participant.  COR is always looking for events to attend that give us an opportunity to educate and assist the community’s most valuable members.

Fundraisers

Valentine’s Day Bake Sale

On this special day of expressing love and appreciation for special people in our lives, COR staff and even patients bring in sweet treats to raise funds for little bundles of joy! As our sign always says, “Make a donation, Take a Treat!” All proceeds go directly to the Baby Buggy Foundation, established with the mission to provide families in need with essential clothing, gear and services  for children ages 0-14, to assist in securing their health and well being.

Lincoln Tunnel Run

Our 5K Champ, Danielle Spagnolo, has spent the past couple of years participating in the annual Lincoln Tunnel Run to raise money for the Special Olympics. While she is always eager to recruit other COR members to run with her, we cheer her on and, along with our supportive patients, help raise the funds to meet her goal!
